I am spending this summer in Greenland studying the efficiency of the drainage system of the Greenland Ice Sheet ablation zone. This is part of a multi-year NASA Cryosphere funded project, titled: "Drainage Efficiency of the Greenland Ice Sheet". You can follow our work and progress on the NASA Earth Observatory blog.
My name is Lincoln H Pitcher. I am a graduate student in the Department of Geography at UCLA. My research focuses hydrologic and cryospheric systems and interfaces with emerging ground, air and spaceborne remote sensing and geospatial technologies. I aim to use these emerging technologies to enhance understanding of remote and logistically inaccessible places. My current research focuses on both Greenland and Arctic Alaska.
